...just buried under mountains of group projects and prelims. It's been so crazy i have barely been able to keep up with LJ; spent an hour just reading through backposts today and day-umn!
I apologize for the lack of real postings or even lemmings, but there are a few things which i must say:
1) Cluegirl's "Raisin Dater" comment nearly made me fall off my chair laughing once i got it.
2) Cluegirl's prologue regarding the Traderix and the Shop is tres cool and I must read the rest of it if/whenever finished.
3) Regarding Cluegirl vs. the IRS- I feel your pain. My dad is also currently trying to stay out of jail because of their monkey-brained crap- he is one of the few non-legal-profession-related citizens I know who actually gives two shakes about the Law (has his own Law library in his office) and for some reason the IRS has decided he knows too much and is plaguing him with much the same problem as yours. "You filed your taxes? We don't think so. Prove it."
Only my brother, dutifully carrying out his chores, accidentally took the cardboard legal box full of original papers and documents out to the curb on recycling day, mistaking it for trash. My Dad discovered this a few days later, as he was preparing to go to the IRS office and told my brother to load up that cardboard box of papers into his car. To which my brother replied, "uh-oh.... uhm... what cardboard box?"
They then proceeded to stare at each other and laugh at the horror of it all, because, what else are you gonna do?
(uhm, yeah. this has not been a good month for my family. prayers and candle-lightings are appreciated.) *sighs*
4)Redwing, girl, you kick ass and always have my adoration and respect.
5) Damn that I'm missing scarby workshops. it sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun and... and i'm sure you all will do great things. I really hope i get to see your stellar performances at least once. (this year is very tight with the timing of my school ending and summer job beginning, and if i come back to Texas in May at all, it will be for maybe a week, which may or may not include a weekend. It's not that I don't love you all, it's just that i got to buy food and pay rent at this durn school-thing.)
6)Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday! Yes, it was happy, yes, I am now legally authorized to buy a pint, sign a binding contract, and gamble, among other things. and i will try to write about it later when i have more non-exam-encroached-upon time.
7) Writewench, I hope you are feeling better soon. *hugs*
that's all i have time for right now. Tomorrow morning I have a Chinese written prelim, followed by the oral exam on Monday. I am off to stuff my brain with Hanzi. Zaijian!
