Breakfast of Champions
Feb. 19th, 2004 08:48 ammmm, there's nothing like stale croissant filled with almond-flavored benzines and a canned starbucks doubleshot to start your morning off with a curdled stomach-- err, I mean, start your morning off right, yeah, that's it...
Well, at least I paid an arm and a leg for it. Otherwise, I'd be crestfallen that CornHell was cheating me out of the full experience somehow...
The T.A. "orientation" program this morning (mind you, this is 4 weeks into the semester and we've all already been working) was so informative! Full of little jewels of wisdom like:
-Don't let your students seduce and/or fuck you for A's. Nepotism is bad.
-Don't grade papers in a public place where your students can whine you into changing their grade. (say it with me now:"duhhhhh...")
-Make sure you clock in all your hours every week instead of saving them all up till the end of the semester in hopes that you'll get one big check.
-We need to make sure everyone's filled out an I-9. (isn't it a little late for that?)
*sigh* so, now that my intelligence has been thoroughly insulted, I'm off to abuse it some more.
