PAO BANGHRA!!!

I love Punjabi Culture- I love the music, I love the clothes, I love the dancing- oooh the dancing! soooo good! So Much Energy! So much Life! Color! Drums! Chaos! Aiyiyiyiyiyi! It's so--- exhilirating! Ahhhh!
Everything about the culture- the wild music, the spicy food, the fact that not everything blends harmoniously but the mish mash is beautiful anyway-- life is hot, boiling, crazy, dancing, spicy, fiery!
I love the men, dancing crazily with mock-aggression and silly charm! What is it about hopping around in skirts that makes them so sexy? I love the women, swirling in silk and powerful, their arms raised and hips swaying! Everyone in bare feet with bells on! At different times it reminds me of a gypsy dance, or a leaping, light-stepping lilt, or a low, grinding-kicking russian dance, or the latest street moves, i don't know. It's all good.
If I was a goddess, shows of tiny human audacity in the face of the universe, their unfettered joy of life such as this, would mollify my rage and soften me to forgive their sins and allow the world to continue...
I want to be reborn as a sikh.

I will now go drink and play and be with friends because it is a full moon, and it is purim, and it is a spicy, heady, rushing night and i must grab every last star in its sky. A rare mood for me, I know. But- it's pouring into me and I can't stop it! and I don't want to stop it, either. *sigh* I am the most repressed party girl on the planet. But not tonight!
