Look, I believe in God, and my spiritual beliefs are very personal and dear to me. I'm not one of those who supports taking the pledge out of schools because it has that scary "G" word in it. ooooh.

But-- didn't we learn our lesson back in England? Why would the pilgrims, though books were hella expensive and prized, not even touch a King Jimmy if you gave it to them for free, but only use the Geneva bible instead? Why did they uproot and go elsewhere, facing sea-sickness, scurvy, starvation, freezing, plague and death to run away from their theocratic government-- why did our ragtag, under-funded, poorly trained, farm-implement wielding forefathers shed their blood for freedom, even though they were vastly outnumbered against the redcoats?
For it all to come to this?
*facepalms*
Separation of Church and State, people. Most of our forefathers were hardcore Christian, and THEY understood the grim and unshakable importance of this concept.

Washington, Jefferson and Franklin and the rest of them must all be spinning in their graves.
Not to mention Mr. Orwell...
