Mar. 2nd, 2004 01:49 amSo, I walked home tonight from work, talking to my friend Bearhugger all the while, hungry as a.... as a hungry college student.. .and I get home, and open the fridge in cowcliffes lounge kitchen to get my leftover soup (literally, I made it from leftovers, and it is good! One of those, little-bit-o-this, little-bit-o-that kinda soups that ended up being pretty hearty). Only, when I go to pick up the stockpot, it is really light! I open the lid-- some one's eaten most of my soup! There was at least 5 bowls worth of soup when I put it in there, and now the broth barely covered the bottom and there were random chunks of vegetables and noodles stuck to the sides of the pot, as if someone stole mostly broth and left more of the noodles and veg. It was kind of a thick tomato-base broth, cause I poured half a jar of spaghetti sauce in it that I'd had laying around, so I know it hadn't just evaporated that quickly.
:(
So, hungry and annoyed (arggh. people on meal plans should remember that food costs $$$, and I have to work to buy those groceries!), I dragged my pot upstairs and rooted around in my closet/pantry.
Can of Campbell's condensed chicken noodle. Can of random generic chef-boyardee-like ravioli with tomato sauce. whatever, good 'nuff. So I throw those in there, and start the soup cookin' up again. add a little water, little spice.... turned out fine. Hey, I can't do gourmet all the time. That stuff's expensive, and a lot of work. Besides, I don't have anyone to impress but myself. And I like it, so... *shrugs* I should have enough to get me through the night. Because that's what's on my agenda tonight- no rest for the weary. Still got 50 papers to grade and a 7-page homework assignment due tomorrow morning.
So, I best get started. Well, I will, right after I start up this pot of coffee....
